Starburst Magazine issue 395 was a milestone for the magazine, as its distribution increased to including a number of well-known supermarket shelves. To celebrate this, Starburst commissioned a number of art prints to be given away with the magazine and I was honoured to be asked to (Very quickly!) produce a Capaldi portrait to celebrate his forthcoming debut.

The piece was initially penciled and inked in the traditional way before being scanned into a computer and finished from that point on electronically. Many of the effects available would have only been possible by the use of airbrush (And an awful lot of experimentation). Hence, the drawing was produced well within its very tight deadline.
