
In issue 393 of Starburst Magazine, J.R. Southall’s Watching Doctor Who column examined the differences in approach to the show by Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffat.
I wanted to illustrate what I felt was a certain difference in “breadth of stroke” between the two show runners and hence converted the appropriate sonic screwdriver of each of their eras into a “weapon of choice” – Davies’ choosing the “bang and crash” of the Saturday blockbuster and Moffatt selecting a piece more easily hidden from view.
