
In Starburst Magazine 387, J.R. Southall’s Watching Doctor Who column explored the possibilities of the forthcoming fiftieth anniversary.
At this point, all that we knew was that both Matt Smith and David Tennant had signed up for the special, while David Bradley was to play William Hartnell in a biopic covering the early days of the show. Meanwhile, we knew nothing of John Hurt’s involvement and it was still unknown as to whether Christopher Eccleston may or may not have been willing to be involved…
I couldn’t resist in taking at least four potential Doctor’s back to Gallifrey’s Death Zone – and it was quite nice to predict David Bradley actually playing the first Doctor within the official show!
